Album cover redesign
for Polo & Pan's Canopée.

In my first Semester at BSDC, I had the opportunity to redesign one of my favorite album's cover design. Listening to my favorite song "Canopée" made me think of endless summers, being in nature and embracing its beauty. This is what I wanted to capture through my cover art. In my design process, I tried out a variety of diffent mediums to see what would capture my desired vibe best. In this process, I made a digital illustration of a jungle scape, held in muted, calming colors.

I chose photography as my final medium for this project, as I really wanted to convey a tropical, yet clean and bright mood. For these motifs, I actually took photos of a pineapple head and its shadow. Given the closing of botanical gardens at start of the corona pandemic and it being early in the year, this was a good alternative to going outside trying to find a tropical plant in the city of Berlin.
